In 2002, he began studying for a degree in Public Accounting at ORT University. In 2005, he started working at Finning South America. In 2008, he graduated and decided to move to Paysandú. He currently works at Paylana as a Cost and Budgeting Analyst.
Pablo decided to study at ORT on the recommendation of his sister, a graduate with a degree in Telecommunications Engineering. “She was the one who advised me and explained ORT’s teaching methodology to me.” He had always enjoyed working with numbers and management, which led him to pursue this degree. “I realized it’s a degree that allows you to work independently as well as within companies.”
Pablo found the program to be “excellent.” “The facilities are very comfortable, and the professors are friendly both inside and outside the classroom; with some of them, I even stayed in touch after class,” he recalled. Over the years of his studies, he formed a close-knit group of friends. “I have many friends I met at ORT with whom we’re still in touch and get together whenever we can.”
Pablo has many memories of ORT. “The required courses and the long hours spent finishing them—sometimes without sleeping all night—to meet the deadline. I also remember the professors’ kindness and willingness to help.”
In 2005, through the Alumni Coordination Office of the School of Administration and Social Sciences, he began working in the Collections department at Finning South America (a distributor of Caterpillar products and services in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, and Uruguay). After 10 months, he began working as a Credit, Collections, and Treasury Analyst at that company.
In 2008, she graduated with a degree in Public Accounting and decided to return to her hometown. “In August 2008, I started looking for a job in Paysandú, and luckily, by October I was already working at Paylana as a Cost and Budgeting Analyst.” In the future, he hopes to work independently and focus on rural businesses.
Currently, his younger sister is also studying to become a Certified Public Accountant at ORT, following his recommendation. “What I learned at ORT has been my greatest professional tool,” he concluded.
