Meet the winners of the 21st edition of the "Design Your Room" contest

As it does every year, the School of Architecture at Universidad ORT Uruguay the awards for the “Design Your Room” contest, which is open to students in their second and third years of high school.
Meet the winners of the 21st edition of the "Design Your Room" contest

On August 28, 2025, the awards ceremony for the contest—organized by the faculty with the support of Radio FM Like—took place at the Pocitos Campus.

First Prize: Everything, by Lukas Bartram

First prize was awarded to Lukas Bartram, a student at the German School and High School of Montevideo, for his project Everything.

Thanks to his outstanding application, Lukas was awarded a 100% scholarship to pursue a Architecture program or the Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design at the School of Architecture at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

Second and third prizes: " Loop," by Micaela Maba, and " Áureo," by Romina Brenlla

Second prize was awarded to Micaela Maba, from the Instituto Uruguayo Argentino, for her project Loop.

Third prize, meanwhile, was awarded to Romina Brenlla, from the Sagrada Familia School and High School, for her project Áureo.

Both students received a 50% scholarship to pursue a degree in Architecture or a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

Special mentions

The jury also awarded three honorable mentions to the following students for their creative and well-crafted proposals:

  • Seed, by Valentina de León (San Jacinto High School)
  • The New Way of Living, by Maite Bidegaray (Italian School of Montevideo)
  • Ivy, by Valentín Arrúa (Manuel Rosé High School No. 1 in Las Piedras)

Additional prizes

In addition to the scholarships mentioned above, the six selected students—including the winners and those who received honorable mentions—were awarded a full scholarship to take the course Architectural Projects with BIM Methodology at the School of Architecture.

In this 21st edition of the "Design Your Room" contest, a total of 112 design projectswere submitted by students from various educational institutions in Uruguay.

Throughout the process of creating their projects, the participants received guidance from senior students in the Interior Design program at Universidad ORT Uruguay.
