A member of the Asia Group participated in an international seminar in China

Professor Felipe Carrier was part of a delegation of representatives from Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Pacific at a seminar organized by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.

A member of the Asia Group participated in an international seminar in ChinaBetween March 20 and April 2, Professor Felipe Carrier—who holds a bachelor’s degree in International Studies and is a faculty member in the Department of International Studies and a member of the East Asia Research Group— participated in the Seminar on China-Aid Projects for Latin American, Caribbean, and South Pacific Countries, organized by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) of the Ministry of Commerce of China (MOFCOM). The seminar was held in the Chinese cities of Beijing, Guangzhou, Dongguan, and Shenzhen.

During the seminar, there were sessions with faculty members from various local universities and officials from government agencies, who shared their experiences in managing international cooperation projects and discussed China’s policy of providing cooperation tools to countries in the region.

In addition, the program included technical visits to companies such as the Huawei Innovation and Development Center and the Shenzhen headquarters of Creality 3D Technology. Practical sessions were also held with the organizers of the Canton Fair, providing a firsthand look at technological innovation and infrastructure.

The group consisted of approximately thirty participants from Ecuador, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, Papua New Guinea, Nauru, and the Solomon Islands, creating a valuable opportunity for training and intercultural and multidisciplinary exchange.
