Traveling exhibition on the life and work of Moses Maimonides

November 30, 2004
An exhibition on the life and work of the philosopher, jurist, and physician Moses Maimonides was held in the main lobby of ORT’s Downtown Campus as part of the commemoration of the 800th anniversary of his death.

In addition to his valuable contributions to medical science, Maimonides made countless contributions to the interpretation of Judaism’s sacred texts.

This exhibition was supported by the Sephardic Jewish Community of Uruguay.

What was featured in the exhibition

The exhibition consisted of twenty large banners that chronologically recounted the most significant events of his life.

It reveals surprising details, such as her writings on hygiene and health, as well as her tireless work in the field of public health.

The paintings and texts provided clarity to the exhibition’s visual narrative, which was accompanied by a display of the most outstanding entries in the Maimonides postage stamp design contest.

A contest organized in May by the School of Communication and Design at Universidad ORT Uruguay.
