East Asia: A New Research Focus at the Faculty

May 23, 2025
This year saw the creation of the East Asia Research Group, an academic initiative coordinated by Professor Diego Telias together with Andrés Bancalari, Lucía Neirotti, and César Avallone, with the participation of graduate students and alumni.

The group aims to foster a space for reflection, analysis, and debate on the many facets of this region of the world. In addition to promoting academic exchange among faculty and students, it seeks to build an active research community that generates rigorous and relevant knowledge about East Asia within the Uruguayan context.

Its key objectives include producing high-quality academic content, establishing partnerships with national and international universities, and creating opportunities for students and graduates interested in the region to advance academically and professionally.

This initiative is part of the School of Management and Social Sciences’ commitment to expanding its research areas and strengthening the international focus of its students’ education.
