Located at 1167 Av. Uruguay, just a few meters from the main building on the Centro Campus, the buildingat has features more than 3,000 m² dedicated to design, communication, art, and technology. Its infrastructure allows for the development of projects that combine different disciplines, tools, and forms of creation.

Designed primarily to expand the practical training opportunities offered by the School of Design and the School of Communication, the Hub features facilities and spaces that foster collaboration between students and faculty from different programs.

The project proposes a practice-centered approach to learning, in which ideas can be transformed into prototypes, audiovisual productions, interactive experiences, and artistic creations.

Audiovisual Studios and Production Workshops

One of the main features of the Creative Hub is the variety of spaces and equipment available for working in different disciplines.

Its facilities include photography, video, television, and streaming studios, equipped with lighting systems and large LED screens that expand the possibilities for audiovisual production and set design.

The building also has three sound studios and two mixing rooms, a new multimedia lab, an audiovisual room, spaces for video podcast production, and areas dedicated to animation and stop-motion, in addition to classrooms.

In the field of design, it features textile and industrial workshops, graphic printing facilities, and a digital fabrication lab (maker lab) equipped with 3D printing and laser cutting tools.

These resources make it possible to tackle different stages of a project, from the initial exploration of an idea to the development of prototypes and finished products.

The infrastructure is complemented by technical support services, as well as the loan of specialized materials and devices for academic activities.

New Possibilities for Digital Creation

The Creative Hub also features facilities designed to explore technologies and formats that are becoming increasingly prevalent in the creative industries.

The Immersive Environments Room provides a space for developing experiences related to virtual reality, visualization, and digital interaction.

For its part, the Game Room is focused on the world of video games and interactive experiences, while the Art Room provides a space for artistic creation and experimentation.

The combination of these resources makes it possible to undertake projects that integrate different languages and tools, such as animation, sound, interface design, audiovisual production, and interactive technologies.

In this way, students from various majors can explore new forms of expression and work with tools that are part of a constantly evolving professional field.

Spaces that adapt to each project

Beyond the technological equipment, one of the key features of the new building is the flexibility of its facilities.

The spaces were designed to accommodate a variety of academic activities, ranging from hands-on classes and audiovisual productions to exhibitions, interactive projects, and interdisciplinary experiences.

Thus, a single space can be transformed to suit the needs of each project, allowing for experimentation with different formats of work and creation.

*Flexible, adaptable, and integrated spaces*

The Hub also features shared workspaces, meeting areas, and circulation spaces designed to foster daily interaction among students, faculty, and technical staff.

This organization aims to ensure that activities are not limited to the traditional settings of each academic program, but rather can take place in shared environments where different perspectives and areas of expertise come together.

A New Way to Learn and Create

The addition of the Creative Hub expands the academic infrastructure of the National School of Design and Visual Arts ( Universidad ORT Uruguay ) amid a period of transformation in disciplines related to design, communication, and content production.

Technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, digital manufacturing, and audiovisual production tools are changing the ways in which content is created and the skills required of professionals in these fields.

In this context, having specialized facilities makes it possible to integrate new technologies into teaching and expose students to the work dynamics typical of the creative industries.

*More than 3,000 m² to imagine, create, and innovate

The building, which is already in use and will be officially inaugurated on November 10, represents an expansion of the spaces available for training, experimentation, and academic production.

More than just adding square meters and equipment, the new Creative Hub aims to create the conditions that will allow students and teachers to put their ideas into practice, explore new tools, and develop projects that integrate design, art, communication, and technology.
