Opertti served as a project evaluator for a Chilean call for proposals

Renato Opertti, M.A., an advisor on international projects at the Institute of Education, served as an evaluator for the projects submitted to the 2024 Call for Proposals on Support for Research, Experiences, and Best Practices in Education.

This call for proposals was launched by the Chilean National Education Council with the aim of funding original research on the education system, as well as studies that document and systematize valuable Chilean experiences to promote and improve the quality of learning. 

Opertti concluded his role as an evaluator in May 2025. He was selected for his commitment, dedication, and thoroughness, to help ensure the quality of the initiatives and contribute to the strengthening of Chilean education.

He is a sociologist who graduated from the University of the Republic (Uruguay) and holds a master’s degree in educational research (CIEP-Uruguay/IDRC-Canada program). 

He works as a consultant for governments, international organizations, and public and private institutions in various regions of the world, and is also an international speaker and professor of educational policy and educational inclusion. 

His work in the field of education spans more than 80 countries across different regions of the world. He is the author of numerous publications in various languages on social policy, education systems, education, curriculum, hybrid educational models, learning, and inclusion. 

He was a founding member of the EDUY21 Civil Association. Today, he serves as chair of the Advisory Council of the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), is a member of the Latin American Coalition for Teaching Excellence, and is part of the ÁGORA think tank

He also serves as an advisor on international projects for the Institute of Education at Universidad ORT Uruguay.
