Ms. Silva was invited by the Latin American Federation of Schools of Social Communication (FELAFACS).
The conference theme was "Communication, Civic Engagement, and Integration."
Virginia Silva spoke on the topic "The Challenges of Teaching Journalism in the 21st Century: Between Cyberspace and Trivialized Democracy."
The panel also included Chilean academics from the University of Concepción, the Universidad Mayor de Temuco, and the University of Chile.
