Recognized for its contribution to economic and social development through key areas such as education, research, consulting, and the analysis of economic indicators, the Getulio Vargas Foundation has established itself as an innovative institution both in Brazil and internationally.
The agreement establishes general principles of cooperation, with an emphasis on applied research, strengthening regional integration, and expanding Mercosur’s international presence.
Areas of cooperation include:
- Joint applied research on foreign trade, regional integration, and Mercosur’s integration into the global economy.
- The organization of seminars, conferences, workshops, and joint academic events.
- The exchange of information, economic data, case studies, and best practices.
- The joint publication of articles, reports, and technical studies.
- Exploring opportunities for cooperation with international institutions on multilateral projects related to these issues.
This agreement represents a significant step toward greater academic and scientific collaboration between Uruguay and Brazil, reinforcing both institutions' commitment to excellence, internationalization, and regional integration.
On behalf of ORT, the signing was attended by the dean of the School of Management and Social Sciences, Dr. Teresa Cometto, and the academic coordinator of the Bachelor’s Program in International Studies, Andrés Bancalari, MBA. Representing the other party were Dr. Lucas Ferraz, coordinator of the Center for Global Business Studies at Fundação Getulio Vargas, and Dr. Guillermo Valles, former Uruguayan ambassador to Brazil.
