On October 9, 2026, the team from the University of the West ( Universidad ORT Uruguay ) was crowned champion of the Futsal Clausura Tournament after a closely contested competition in which the title came down to the results of the final matchday.
Unlike the Apertura Tournament, in which it had also been crowned champion, the team was unable to maintain the same level of consistency during the Clausura. However, the results from the final matchday allowed it to secure first place.
A championship decided on the final matchday
ORT finished the tournament with 18 points in eight games, with six wins and two losses. The team scored 36 goals and allowed 17, for a positive goal differential of 19.
The standings reflected just how close the competition was.
Danubio Fútbol Club finished in second place with 17 points, while Homenetmen Vramian took third place with 16.

With this victory, the team added the Clausura title to the 2026 Apertura Tournament title, which it won in June.
The Importance of Teamwork
Head coach Martín Sánchez highlighted the team's cohesion as one of the key factors in its performance.
“We have a really great group of players who are already well-established, and that shows on the field, ”said Sánchez, who also emphasized that every player understands his role within the team and the importance of trust among teammates.
