He also gave a lecture titled "Old Wolf, New Wool Suit: Global IT and the Legacy of Colonialism" in the auditorium at Campus Centro.
Dr. Gopal has been an associate professor of Information Systems at the Ivey Business School, Western University, Canada, since July 2001.
He taught undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses for eleven years at the University of Calgary.
His research focuses on technology transfer between rich and poor countries, information systems and organizational policy, and information technology and society.
Dr. Gopal's visit was sponsored by the Canada-Uruguay Studies Center and the Canadian Embassy.
