In 2000, Magdalena began pursuing a bachelor’s degree in graphic design at Universidad ORT Uruguay. In 2005, she worked as a designer at a web design firm. That same year, she launched her own business, and in September 2008, she graduated. She is a partner at her company, PRO Internacional.

His brother was pursuing a bachelor's degree in Management and Administration and recommended that he study at ORT.

I chose Universidad ORT Uruguay it was the only place where you could study graphic design and earn a college degree.

Magdalena said that from a young age , her family encouraged her to pursue her calling. “Two people influenced me: first, my aunt, who teaches drawing and costume design at the Municipal School of Dramatic Arts; she nurtured my creative side. And the other person was my brother, who encouraged me to start using a computer at a very young age.”

From her years of study, Magdalena remembers the moments she shared with her classmates.

- "I won't forget the deadlines; staying up until six in the morning, working nonstop."

In 2005, she worked as a designer at a web design company. A year later, she started her own company with her friend Rosario Monteverde, a systems engineering graduate. “We felt we could build something together because we shared a passion for entrepreneurship, and our career paths complemented each other very well,” she said.

She always felt supported by her faculty.

- "I'm truly very grateful to the university, because it showed me that the path to entrepreneurship is possible."

Magdalena and Rosario co-founded the web design company PRO Internacional as part of the Ingenio business incubator, run by the Technological Laboratory of Uruguay (LATU) and founded by Universidad ORT Uruguay.“In that regard, Universidad ORT Uruguay gave Universidad ORT Uruguay the tools we needed to build our startup and make it a success.” In 2008, the company was approved by the Fondo Emprender to receive capital investment and hire more staff.

Magdalena pointed out that the company has developed more than 200 websites for clients in Uruguay, Australia, Austria, Colombia, Spain, and the United States.

Today, we are a team of ten people, and we are in the process of hiring new talent. Several members of our company are students at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

Recently, the graduates were nominated as Latin American finalists for the “Women Entrepreneurs of the Year” global award, organized by Cartier. In October, they will travel to France to present their project to the evaluation committee. “We are very proud to have been nominated for this award. We hope this will open doors for us to continue growing the company and creating job opportunities.”

“Being an entrepreneur isn’t easy; you have to be willing to sacrifice a lot and dedicate your whole life to it.”

Magdalena is currently the Sales Manager at her company. “Although I actually do a little bit of everything,” she admitted. In the short term, she hopes to expand her company internationally and become a role model for new entrepreneurs.
