The Next Step After College: Training, Connections, and New Opportunities

What comes next after graduating from college? How can you stand out in the job market? What knowledge and skills should you develop to tackle new professional challenges?

These are some of the questions that“PROYECTATE: Your Next Step Starts Here”aims to address—an event organized by the Universidad ORT Uruguay , which will take place on November 3 and 5, 2026.

The event is aimed at students in their final two semesters of college and seeks to introduce them to new perspectives on the world of work, opportunities for professional development, and options for continuing their education after graduation.

The event will feature short talks by leading experts from various fields, opportunities for students to interact with one another, and a chance to learn about the university's graduate programs.

Four Talks to Look Ahead

Artificial intelligence, international job opportunities, career development, and professions with a social impact will be the four main themes of the presentations, each of which will last approximately 10 minutes.

In “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Business,” Eduardo Mangarelli, dean of the School of Engineering, will analyze how this technology is transforming business models, decision-making, and ways of working. He will also discuss the skills that will be essential for professionals seeking to thrive in this new landscape.

For her part, María Eugenia Puppo, Architect and Knowledge Director at /slantis—a studio specializing in production and technology consulting applied to architecture—will lead “The World Is Your Market: How to Take Your Talent Beyond Borders,” a talk on the possibilities of building an international career from Uruguay and the challenges of working with clients and teams from other countries.

In “Design Your Career,” Dr. Ximena Fernández, academic coordinator of ORT’s MBA program, will invite participants to reflect on the skills most valued in today’s job market and the importance of making strategic decisions to guide professional growth.

The fourth exhibition, “Purpose-Driven Careers: How Social Impact Opens New Career Paths,” will explore how collaboration across different disciplines can help address challenges such as climate change, inequality, and misinformation, and create new opportunities for career development.

The talks will give students the opportunity to learn about different perspectives on professional practice and to reflect on how to continue developing their skills after completing their undergraduate studies.

A space to connect and explore alternatives

The event will continue after the talks with a networking session, food, games, and prizes, where participants can share their experiences and build connections with students from other majors.

In addition, the event will feature booths showcasing graduate programs from the various schools at the Universidad ORT Uruguay.

There, students will have the opportunity to learn about the academic programs available, talk with representatives from the various departments, and explore specialization options that will allow them to deepen their knowledge, broaden their skills, or develop new professional interests.

Benefits for Continuing Education

During the event, an exclusive 35% discount on one-year master’s programs will also be offered to graduates of the Universidad ORT Uruguay ’s classes of 2025, 2026, and 2027.

The discount will apply to one-year master's programs beginning in 2027. Students who graduate during that year must have earned their degree before the start of the corresponding master's program.

Those interested can learn about the various program offerings and review the eligibility requirements at the graduate program booths.
