This year, the Jean Monnet Thinking Europe (ThinkEur) module of the Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies at Universidad ORT Uruguay a variety of activities planned.
The third edition of the course “Western and Eastern Europe: United, Divided, or Diverse,” taught by professors Virginia Delisante, Marta Sajdak, and Kaloyan Stanev, will begin in March . This course for ORT students aims to explore the relationship between Western and Eastern Europe in the context of postwar European integration and the present day.
The Module also plans to hold the second edition of the European Cultures workshop this year, coordinated by Professor Sebastián Moreno in April. The first edition took place last year at the Delegation of the European Union in Uruguay.
In May, we will celebrate Europe Day (May 9) with an International Day, coordinated by visiting professor Filipe Vasconcelos from Lisbon, Portugal. This event invites participants to reflect on the European Union as a global actor through a historical overview leading up to the present day.
Throughout the year, two webinars will also be held on current European issues such as climate change and the Green Deal, coordinated by Juan Manuel Rivero Godoy and Juan Labraga, and on democracy and populism, led by Professor Germán Clulow.
