2025 Oscar Nominees
On Thursday, January 23, the nominees for the 97th Academy Awards, the film industry’s most prestigious awards, were announced.
The nomination ceremony, held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre in Los Angeles, was hosted by Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang, both well-known for their work in film and comedy.
This event, originally scheduled for January 17, was rescheduled due to the wildfires that affected the region, prompting the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences(California) to extend the voting period and redirect funds from its traditional nominees’ luncheon to humanitarian initiatives.
At this year's event, the nominees in 24 major categories were announced, sparking widespread debate among critics and film fans.
