The School of Design Launches the PÍXEL Scholarship

This program is intended for those who wish to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Design, Art, and Technology, covering 50% of the total cost of the program.

This special fund is designed to provide financial support for access to higher education in the technological arts

"We at ORT decided to launch this scholarship to promote higher education for emerging talent, making it easier for students interested in the intersection of design, art, and technology to enroll," explained Fabián Barros, academic coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Design, Art, and Technology.

"In this way, we ensure that more young people with an interest in the arts can access higher education in an innovative and growing field," he added. 

Requirements and Application

Anyone who has completed the 6th year of high school or has up to two outstanding courses may apply, regardless of their high school track or the year in which they attended.

Those interested in applying for this scholarship must enroll in the Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Art, and Technology, apply for the scholarship that best fits their profile, and register to take the Academic Aptitude Test (PAA).

Eligible for this scholarship are those who already meet this requirement, those who have applied in previous scholarship cycles, as well as new students enrolled in the bachelor’s degree program set to begin in March 2025.

You can register for the program through March 10at admisiones.ort.edu.uy, while the PAA exam will be administered on March 21.

The PÍXEL scholarship, which covers 50% of the total cost of the degree program, will be awarded to the applicant with the highest PAA score as of early March 2025.

Study Design, Art, and Technology

The Bachelor's Degree in Design, Art, and Technology is a comprehensive, interdisciplinary programthat offers students the opportunity to undertake creative projects that grow in complexity as they learn new tools and technologies, combining design, art, and technology to address today's challenges.

Art is evolving rapidly thanks to advances in technology, making artists' vision essential to finding new ways to use it and contribute to society.

The program is designed for creative, curious individuals who are eager to explore and experiment.

Over the course of four years, students will study subjects such as drawing, painting, design, photography, video art, experimental animation, and robotics, combining creativity and technology to prepare themselves to become leaders in emerging fields.
