“This is a book of voices: different perspectives from a variety of authors shed light on the challenges involved in achieving a genuine digital transformation in teaching, learning, academic knowledge, and institutional organization,” states the back cover of The School of Screens: Models and Case Studies for the Transition.
The book, edited by professors Alejandro Artopoulos and Carina Lion, includes a chapter dedicated to the Ceibal Plan. It was written by Lion, along with Ana Olmedo and Verónica Zorrilla de San Martín, members of the faculty at the Institute of Education.
“Case Study: The CEIBAL Project in the Classroom” is an article that highlights the implementation of this project in Uruguay, as well as its origins, implications, and the context in which it emerged.
In turn, as the book’s editors point out, the chapter highlights “what happens in the classroom,” the “questions that arise regarding teaching,” and analyzes the “potential” of teaching approaches that are “relevant, challenging, and committed.”
