Merco (Corporate Reputation Business Monitor) is one of the leading indicators in Latin America for assessing corporate reputation.
It currently compiles various rankings—including Merco Empresas, Merco Líderes, Merco ESG Responsibility, Merco Talent, Merco Society, Merco University Talent, and Merco Digital—and operates in more than 15 countries, including Uruguay.
The 2025 edition of Merco Empresas y Líderes Uruguay is based on five assessments, 15 sources of information, and 1,360 respondents, including executives from large companies, financial analysts, business journalists, government representatives, labor unions, NGOs, consumer associations, social media managers, and the general public.

The Merco Digital module incorporates the analysis of tens of thousands of mentions in digital environments, processed in collaboration with Nethodology, and carries significant weight within the overall index. The entire methodological process is subject to independent review by KPMG.
This leadership in the digital sphere reinforces the university's position as a leading player in digital transformation, innovation, and the creation of high-quality content across its institutional, academic, and outreach channels.
Business leaders with the best reputations
The same ranking that places Universidad ORT Uruguay the top Universidad ORT Uruguay terms of digital reputation also recognizes two prominent figures from the institution as among the country’s most reputable business leaders.
The Merco Líderes Uruguay 2025 ranking places Eduardo Mangarelli, dean of the ORT School of Engineering, in seventh place on the overall list of business leaders.

Enrique Topolansky, director of the university’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), ranks 27th, marking an 84-place rise from the previous ranking.
