The agreement was formalized on Wednesday, November 26, through an extension of the cooperation agreement in effect since 2016, which also allows USAC students to enroll in English-language courses offered by ORT.

USAC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to offering study abroad programs for college students.

It is made up of more than 30 universities in the United States, and its headquarters are located at the University of Nevada, Reno.

The courses will be offered only during the August–December semester of each year, and this schedule will be maintained for all future sessions.

The expansion of the agreement includes reciprocal access to courses taught in English by both institutions.

USAC will accept students from all faculties of Universidad ORT Uruguay its English-language courses in Montevideo. In return, ORT will accept USAC students into its English-language courses, subject to availability, academic requirements, and institutional scheduling.

The academic and administrative management of enrollment in English-language courses will be handled by the School of Communication at Universidad ORT Uruguay, in coordination with USAC; the School will also be responsible for issuing official transcripts.

This expansion of the cooperation agreement is part of the internationalization strategy of Universidad ORT Uruguay , in particular, of the School of Communication, as it strengthens academic ties with a long-standing partner and expands the range of programs offered in English in the country.

The participation of students from various academic disciplines will help diversify the student body and strengthen educational pathways with an international focus without requiring students to leave the local university environment.
