Wooden homes in Canada

The Center for Canadian Studies at Universidad ORT Uruguay a lecture titled "Wooden Housing Construction in Canada" at the School of Architecture.

The lecture took place on September 29, 2004, and was given by architect Facundo de Souza.

Architect de Souza teaches Projects 5 and 6 at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

In addition, the professor visited Canada in 2003, where he established academic and technical contacts at McGill University (Montreal), Ryerson University (Toronto), Carleton University (Ottawa), and various institutions involved in wood construction, such as the Canadian Wood Council, the Canadian Centre for Housing Technology, and the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

At the conference, Architect de Souza spoke about Canada’s experience in using wood as the primary material in the construction of single-family homes and small housing developments.
