The Faculty of Architecture at Universidad ORT Uruguay, together with the General Directorate of Technical and Vocational Education of the National Public Education Administration (DGETP), is launching the first edition of the Cowork Young Entrepreneurs Competition.
This competition is designed exclusively for ORT interior design students and graduates who wish to put their creativity and technical skills to the test in designing innovative spaces.
The challenge is to submitting a preliminary design for a coworking space that fulfills three essential functions:
- A social space that welcomes users with a reception area and a library lounge.
- An office dedicated to coordination and planning, equipped for teamwork.
- Two versatile multifunctional areas that integrate spaces for practical activities, idea generation, and prototyping.
The winning team will be responsible for subsequently developing the detailed design necessary for the coworking space’s bidding process, including all required graphic and written documentation.

Who can participate?
The contest is open exclusively at:
- Students in the Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design (who have passed Workshop 6) and the Interior Design Technician Program (having passed Design 4) in the School of Architecture.
- Graduates of these programs, up to 2 years since graduation as of the date of enrolment.
Employees, executives, contractors, and their immediate family members affiliated with Universidad ORT Uruguay are excluded.

Stages of the contest
Registration and submission of papers:
- Fill out the registration form on the official contest website.
- Entries must be submitted on a vertical A1-size panel by Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 7:00 p.m..
Publication of results:
- The winners will be officially announced on Friday, May 30, 2025 on the faculty’s website.
Commitment from the winning team:
- The winning team must develop the detailed design in order to the coworking space tender, complying with all the graphic and written requirements established in the contest rules.

Site visit and consultation
It is essential that participants make a visit and interview at the collaborative space located in Room 22 of the building at Martín C. Martínez 1976.
- Date of the visit: Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. This visit will allow you to gather all the necessary information about the coworking space’s environment and conditions, a key element for developing your proposal.
