The launch event for the Network of Professors and Academic Coordinators took place on April 17 at the ORT Business School.
The initiative is led by the Center for Continuing Education in Higher Education, with support from the People department at Universidad ORT Uruguay, and is carried out within the framework of the Human Resources department.
The network was conceived as a platform for academic collaboration and as a community of practice. Its purpose is to create a space for systematic exchange among professors and academic coordinators, with a focus on improving courses and educational programs.
Collaborative work
Its objectives include strengthening common academic standards, systematizing existing best practices, and transforming exchanges among academic leaders into concrete actions.
The proposal aims to ensure that these initiatives can be sustained over time and scaled up within the institution, thereby promoting more coordinated teaching processes.
The Human Resources Department's involvement includes a focus on the professional development of the university's staff.
Teacher Development
The establishment of the network represents an opportunity to advance the institutionalization of teacher development policies.
In this regard, the initiative makes it possible to integrate experiences from different academic fields, identify common learning outcomes, and promote shared criteria for the management of teaching.
The proposal is also linked to Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. The Sustainable Development Goals are an agenda adopted by the United Nations in 2015 to address global challenges such as poverty, education, equality, sustainability, innovation, peace, and partnerships by 2030.
In this case, the connection stems from the network's focus on improving higher education and strengthening teaching and institutional capacities.
Institutional Coordination
