Academic Secretary of ORT’s School of Communication Joins the SNI

Professor Francisco Arri, Ph.D., academic secretary of the School of Communication at ORT Uruguay, has been inducted into the National System of Researchers in the field of Social Sciences.

Universidad ORT Uruguay the induction of Prof. Dr. Francisco Arri, academic secretary of the School of Communication, into the National System of Researchers (SNI), an honor that recognizes his academic career, scholarly output, and contribution to the advancement of research in the social sciences. 

He has been appointed to the Entry-Level category of the SNI, building on an academic career marked by graduate studies, university administration, and research in the fields of communication and education. 

A strong academic and professional background 

Arri holds a Ph.D. in Social Communication from Austral University (Argentina), a degree he earned in 2020. In addition, has Master’s degree in Communication and Education from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2014), is a Professor (2009) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism (2006) from the University of Salvador (Argentina), and is a National Broadcaster (2006), having graduated from the Higher Institute of Radio Broadcasting in Buenos Aires. 

Throughout his career, he has been highly active in teaching, research, and academic administration. For more than ten years, he served as director of the Department and the Doctoral Program in Education Science at the Universidad del Salvador. He also served as a principal investigator and undergraduate instructor at that institution, in addition to being a member of the academic staff at the Universidad Abierta Interamericana and the Universidad de Ciencias Sociales y Empresariales in Argentina. 

In the field of graduate education, he has served as a visiting professor at the National Universities of Rosario and San Martín in Argentina, as well as at Columbia University in Paraguay. 

Experience in the media 

In addition to his academic career, Arri has had a distinguished professional career in the media. He worked at Radio Mitre in Argentina, where he served as an announcer, editor, reporter, and producer for the news department—an experience that complements his academic background and strengthens his understanding of communication processes. 

A tribute to research 

The presence of researchers from Universidad ORT Uruguay the National System of Researchers continues to grow. In this round of appointments, in addition to the inclusion of Francisco Arri in the Social Sciences category, Lacruz remains an active researcher in the Humanities (Level I) and Zunino in the Social Sciences (Level I), reaffirming the institution’s commitment to knowledge production and high-quality research. 

This achievement builds on the ongoing work of researchers at Universidad ORT Uruguay various fields of study, cementing research as one of the university’s cornerstones and strengthening its contribution to the country’s scientific and academic progress.
