About the program
Projects for Peace is a global program that encourages young adults (ages 18 to 30) to develop innovative, community-centered, and scalable solutions to the world’s most pressing problems.
Each year, it awards 125 or more student leaders $10,000 to launch a project anywhere in the world, typically during the summer break in the Northern Hemisphere.
The winning projects are able to articulate their understanding of peace and to consider how their project will contribute to that ideal, and they typically have strong relationships and leverage other community assets.
The only university in Uruguay
Universidad ORT Uruguay one of the 100 universities selected to participate in Projects for Peace 2026.
We participated in 2024 and 2025, as the only university in Uruguay to do so and one of the few worldwide to have received funding for more than one project during those two years.

What knowledge, skills, connections, interests, and passions do you have? How do they relate to your vision of peace? Is there a teacher or mentor who can help you develop your idea?

Outline the implementation plan
List the essential tasks and put them in order.
-
Think about the budget

-
Dream of the results
At the end of the project, how will you know if it was a success? What do you need to stay on track toward that goal?
