The Eiffel Excellence Programme supports:
- Candidates up to 29 years of age for a 12- to 36-month program at the master’s level
- Candidates up to age 35 for a Ph.D. program (scholarships lasting 12 to 36 months)
Fields of study for which the scholarship is being sought:
Science and technology:
- Biology and Health
- Green transition
- Mathematics and arithmetic
- Engineering Sciences
- Humanities and Social Sciences:
- History, French Language, and French Civilization
- Law and Political Science
- Economics and Management
Who is eligible
- Candidates of all nationalities (except France) are eligible to apply. Candidates with dual citizenship, one of which is French, are not eligible.
- Applicants for the master’s degree program may not currently be enrolled in a program in France and must be no older than 29 years of age on the date of the selection committee meeting.
- Doctoral candidates studying abroad are given priority over those already living in France. They must be no older than 35 at the time of the 2026 application period.
What's on offer
1. Living allowance
For master’s degree level: Eiffel scholars receive a monthly stipend of 1,200 euros, in addition to direct payment for various services.
For doctoral degree level: Eiffel doctoral scholars receive a monthly stipend of 2,100 euros, in addition to direct payment for various services.
2. Tuition fees (for engineering degrees)
3. Travel and transportation expenses: one-way trip and round-trip return trip
How do I apply?
Step 1: The applicant selects a French institution to apply to
Applicants are responsible for choosing a French institution based on their study plan. Any French higher education institution may be selected.
Candidates are advised to contact the International Relations office at their university or school to find out the deadline for submitting applications.
Candidates may contact the French Embassy or the Campus France office in their home country for assistance.
Stage 2: Institutions submit their selected proposals
French universities/schools submit the applications of the selected students.
Deadline for institutions: January 8, 2026 (students should contact their chosen French institution to find out its application deadline).
