The Canadian government offers full scholarships for student exchanges in Canada during the following periods:
- September–December 2026
- January–May 2027
The scholarship consists of 8,600 Canadian dollars per student.
The universities participating this year are:
Kwantlen Polytechnic University:The Wilson School of Design participates. All courses are taught in English. Only for students in the School of Design and the Bachelor of Interior Design program.
UQAM: All courses are taught in French.
UQAM’s School of Management: Exchange program for the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences.
Requirements
- Meet the usual requirements for participating in exchange programs (the Academic Coordination Office can provide more information about the specific requirements for each degree program).
- Be a Uruguayan or Latin American citizen (exclusive)
- Prove an intermediate level of French or English
- Not having previously participated in the ORT exchange program
Candidates shortlisted by the exchange coordination team must pay an exchange fee before moving on to the next stage of the process.
Application
- Your academic coordinator must send an email with your name, student number, and email address, authorizing your registration. Once you have been nominated, the exchange coordinator will send you the online registration form, which you must complete with your preferred destinations in order of preference.
- Proof of English or French language proficiency
- Letter of motivation in English or French addressed to the ORT exchange coordinator (maximum one page)
- Copy of passport or identity card
After receiving applications by email, a preliminary selection of candidates will be made.
Applications must be submitted by February 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
Students who move on to the next phase of the process must then prepare their applications to their chosen universities and scholarship programs, for which they will receive support from the exchange coordination team.
Important
1) If you have already submitted an application for the international semester for the August 2025 period (any destination), that application will be canceled if you are preselected as an ELAP candidate by the exchange office. In that case, you will compete on equal terms with the other candidates, and your previously assigned exchange spot will not be reserved.
2) Preselection by ORT does not mean that the student will receive the ELAP scholarship, but rather that they have successfully completed the first stage of a competitive selection process.
