Programme Horizontal Cooperation Scholarships Chile 2027

The " Programme " program, funded by the Chilean Agency for International Development Cooperation (AGCID) and implemented in Uruguay through the Uruguayan Agency for International Cooperation (AUCI), is now accepting applications for its 2027 scholarships.

The scholarships are intended for professionals who wish to pursue on-campus master's degree programs at accredited institutions of higher education in Chile.

Application deadline in Uruguay:October 6, 2026.

Start date: Between March 1 and September 30, 2027.

Maximum duration: Up to 24 months (maximum of 4 semesters or 6 academic quarters).

Format: In-person (full-time).

Benefits of the scholarship

  • Tuition and Fees: 100% coverage of the academic cost of the master's program (for up to 4 semesters or 6 quarters).
  • Monthly child support: A monthly payment of 600,000 Chilean pesos ($CLP).
  • Insurance: Life, health, and accident insurance within Chile.
  • Course Materials: A one-time initial allocation of CLP 90,000 for books and materials.
  • Thesis Support: A one-time grant of CLP 300,000 following approval of the thesis proposal (requires a GPA of $\ge 5.5$).


Note: The costs of airfare, visas, application fees, and travel insurance are not covered by the scholarship.

Key Requirements and Priority Criteria

  • To be a college graduate.
  • Have received unconditional and final acceptance from a Chilean university for a master’s program included on the official list in Annex 1 of the call for applications.

Programs in strategic areas: Astronomy, mining, Antarctic sciences, renewable energy, marine resources, economic development, international trade, international relations, national security, and the fight against organized crime.

Application and Submission Process

The documentation must be submitted in two hard copies or electronic copies by the deadline (October 6, 2026):

To be submitted to the Chilean Embassy: A scanned electronic file containing the AGCID form, a letter of unconditional acceptance into the program, a health certificate (Annex 5), an apostilled/legalized degree, a resume, a statement of purpose, a thesis proposal, references, and a letter of sponsorship from an employer (if applicable).

Submit to AUCI (Scholarships Section - Executive Tower, Mvd): Documentation required by AUCI (AUCI form, letter of institutional endorsement, photocopy of ID, and Decree 234/86) after scheduling an appointment at becas@auci.gub.uy.
