In 2003, Guzmán began pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies at ORT University. In 2007, he worked in the export division of Fábricas Nacionales de Cervezas (FNC). He is currently in Buenos Aires pursuing a Master’s degree in International Studies at Torcuato Di Tella University.
From a young age, Guzmán showed an interest in the international arena. “From a very early age, I was fascinated by maps, geography, and later by history and international politics.”
In 2003, when he decided to pursue his degree, “the emphasis on politics and history in the Bachelor’s in International Studies carried a lot of weight. ORT was the institution that offered a program tailored to what I was looking for.”
He believes ORT has excellent faculty. "The relationship I built with some professors enriched me immensely and was even a major impetus for delving deeper into the academic world."
When speaking of his years of study, Guzmán said he has fond memories. "I especially cherish the pursuit of academic excellence, the constant intellectual challenges, and the opportunity it gave me to meet people and make friends."
In 2007, he began working at Fábricas Nacionales de Cervezas. “I was in the export department, where I managed client relationships in Brazil and the United States. My work ranged from taking client orders and determining production volumes to arranging transportation and ensuring that the goods actually reached their destination.”
He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Studies at Torcuato Di Tella University in Buenos Aires. Upon completing his Master’s degree, Guzmán plans to return to Uruguay.
