Series of events organized by the School of Management and Social Sciences - March

The School of Management and Social Sciences organized a series of events, which took place at its campus.

March 7: "The New Accountants: Who They Are and What They Do." Recent graduates from ORT University shared their experiences as they embark on their professional careers. Panelists: Gustavo Cusati, CPA (Techint Uruguay); Ana Claudia Expósito, CPA (Barraca Europa); Francisco García, CPA (KPMG); Maria Paulós, CPA (Weyerhaeuser Uruguay); Karina Scher, CPA (Roche International); and Javier Stolowicz, CPA (General Tax Directorate). Moderator: Carolina García, CPA, Associate Academic Coordinator of the Public Accounting Program.

March 7: "Learning to Understand the World." How graduates in International Studies analyze political, economic, and social phenomena on the international stage. Panelists: Verónica Alonso (Norveluz), Shyra Coll (Lolita), Virginia Delisante (ORT University), Fernanda Manzano (Tenaris Supply Chain), and Emilio Rivero (Latin Brokers). Moderator: Javier Bonilla, Academic Coordinator of International Studies.

March 8: "The Certified Public Accountant and the Tax System." The role of the profession and its impact on tax management.
Speaker: Eduardo Zaidensztat, Director General of Revenue.

March 9: "The Business of Uruguayan Rock." Band members, students, and graduates of the faculty discussed their experiences in the music world, their achievements, and their projections for the coming years. They also presented a model of how the music business operates globally and in Uruguay, and how new technologies are impacting it. Panelists: Tal Szlafmyc and Felipe Ariza (Gasoil), Juan Andrés Jutgla (Juan el que Canta), Matías Kramer (Doberman), and Pablo Acosta y Lara (Representative of Universal Music in Uruguay).

March 13: "The European Union’s Trade Policy." Speaker: Ambassador William Hanna, Head of the European Union Delegation to Uruguay and Paraguay.

March 15: "Together but not mixed up: the keys to teamwork." Teamwork allows us to increase efficiency in almost everything we do: sports, music, and, naturally, work. Participants learned how to improve their performance by working with others through a series of exercises. Facilitator: Enrique Kramer, Academic Coordinator of Management and Administration.
