Dr. Nelson Fraiman holds an MBA in Finance and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University. He is a professor in the Division of Decision, Risk, and Operations and Director of the W. Edwards Deming Center for Quality, Productivity, and Competitiveness at Columbia Business School. In 1992, he received a grant from the National Science Foundation to conduct research on production planning; in 1993, he received AT&T’s Manufacturing Systems Excellence Award; and in 1994, Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science named him Best Professor. He worked at Sony and IBM in Supply Chain Management and E-business. He was a professor of Operations at the Universidad de Di Tella in Buenos Aires and a visiting professor at the Universidad Externado in Bogotá. He has written case studies on Zara and Lolita, and is currently working with Zara Home and Mango. He has taught executive education courses in the United States, the Netherlands, and Israel.
Dr. Singh holds a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University. He is Director of Advanced Research at the W. Edwards Deming Center for Quality, Productivity, and Competitiveness at Columbia Business School.
