This competition was held in every country on the continent. In Uruguay, 17 contestants participated, representing students from across the national university system. In the first written qualifying round, held at the University of the Republic, 8 finalists were selected. The winner received a one-week trip to Israel as a prize, to be taken in September alongside the winners from the other countries.
