Conference: "The Crossroads of the Middle East: An Academic Analysis"

On Thursday, September 11, the conference "The Crossroads of the Middle East: An Academic Analysis" took place in the Auditorium of the School of Communication and Design, led by Drs. Arie Kacowicz and Mario Sznajder of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., they delivered the lectures “The Holocaust and the Peace Process” and “60 Years of the State of Israel: Lights and Shadows,” and led the roundtable discussion “Conflict in the Middle East: Is It Possible to Be Objective About It?” with the participation of journalist Martín Sarthou. From 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., the lectures “Perceptions and Facts of the Arab-Israeli Conflict: Conflict in the Middle East and Its Impact on the World” took place. The event was organized by the Uruguayan Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Dr. Arie Kacowicz holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from Princeton University. He is the Chair of the Department of International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Dr. Sznajder holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he serves as a Professor of Political Science. Among his many publications, we highlight "The Birth of Fascist Ideology," Madrid, Siglo XXI Editores, 1994.
