"Design on Wheels 2" Contest

October 31, 2008
The School of Communication and Design organized the “Design on Wheels 2” contest, sponsored by the URUBIKE Center for Bicycle Research and Promotion and Océano FM, aimed at 11th and 12th grade students. The contest challenges each participant to use their creativity to design a bicycle with accessories and equipment, taking into account its various functions, such as alternative transportation, sports, exercise, recreation, and others. The winner receives a full scholarship to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design.

Proposals could be submitted to the School of Design until Thursday, October 23. Students in the Industrial Design program will be available to help participants develop their ideas and answer any questions. A jury will select the best entries, which will then be voted on by the public via the contest website. The winning project will be announced on Thursday, November 20, at 12:00 p.m.

On September 25, an informational session was held to guide those interested in participating, led by Mr. Ernesto Camacho, representative of URUBIKE, and Mr. Daniel Domínguez, Academic Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design.
