locally and globally.
ORT University is the first university in Uruguay—and one of the first in the region—to incorporate this technology into its Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Technical Diploma in Audiovisual Production programs. This update represents a significant step toward the technological future, which has already become a professional reality for some of Uruguay’s leading TV channels and production companies.
On March 5, a presentation of this new technology took place in the auditorium of the School of Communication and Design. Speakers included the Dean of the School, Eduardo Hipogrosso, and Mariano Elzaurdia and Enrique Frider, Head of Technology and Director of Punto Luz, respectively.
Mr. Elzaurdia detailed the technology that now makes up the comprehensive and modern audiovisual studio, and referred to the incorporation of the broadcast transmission standard that sets the highest level of audiovisual quality used worldwide. The new complex allows for the production of content both on location and in the studio, as it is equipped with cameras capable of autonomous recording. And speaking of the future, Elzaurdia noted that this technology will enable the production of new audiovisual content for the Internet, mobile phones, in-vehicle television, and other multimedia formats.
