Call for Applications for the Camino TICs Scholarship Fund

The Camino TICs program offers full scholarships for short-term courses in the field of Information and Communications Technology. The program aims to help young people who have dropped out of the formal education system continue their studies so they can later enter a field with high employment potential in the job market. The application process began on January 24 for the program starting on March 21.

Application Requirements: Camino TICs is aimed at young people between the ages of 16 and 21, with a per capita household income of less than $6,000, who have not completed high school (or equivalent) and have failed no more than three courses in their senior year.

The application process consists of three stages:

1-Application Form.
The application form can be downloaded from our website, cie.ort.edu.uy, or picked up at ORT Centro, Cuareim 1451 at the corner of Mercedes, phone: 2902-1505, Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Student Services office. The deadline to submit the completed application is March 1 by 12:00 p.m.

2- Academic Test.
All applicants must take an Academic Test, which will take place on March 3 at 10:00 a.m. at ORT Centro.

3- Individual Interview.
Applicants who pass the Academic Test will be invited to an individual interview between March 14 and 16.


Camino TICs is a project funded by the European Union and implemented by ORT University with the participation of partner institutions such as the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI) and Rotary District 4970. It is a program that seeks to contribute to poverty reduction by integrating young people into a formal technical and vocational education system, facilitating their social inclusion in one of the most dynamic sectors of the national economy: ICTs.
