On March 13, 1881, Tsar Alexander II was assassinated, an event that proved pivotal in the history of the Jewish people. The speaker analyzed the context of this event and its far-reaching consequences, which continue to exert a powerful influence on the world today.
Perednik is a graduate of the University of Buenos Aires and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (cum laude), and completed his PhD in Philosophy at New York University. He studied the humanities at the Sorbonne (France), San Marcos (Peru), and Uppsala (Sweden). He was honored as an outstanding professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he lectured in several languages. He has written more than a dozen books, among which we highlight the trilogy: “Great Thinkers. Jews in Western Civilization” (2005), “Notable Thinkers. Jews in Western Civilization” (2006), and “Famous Thinkers: Jews in Western Civilization” (2007), as well as “Violin on the Back: Historical Crossroads of the Jewish People” (2008), published by Universidad ORT Uruguay.
