Tuesday, the 7th – 7:30 p.m. Lecture “Cinema and the Shoah,” presented by Prof. Luis Elbert. Screening of the film “Night and Fog,” directed by Alain Resnais (France).
Meanwhile, David Telias, Coordinator of the Department of Jewish Studies, participated in the roundtable discussion “Reus: Stories of a Neighborhood Straight Out of a Movie,” which took place on Sunday, the 5th. The panel also included Prof. María Emilia Pérez Santarcieri, Eduardo Piñero, Co-director of the film “Reus,” and Gonzalo Rodríguez Fábregas and Oscar Zwaig, Director and Advisor, respectively, of the documentary “El barrio de los judíos.”
This festival was declared of Tourist Interest by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, of Cultural Interest by the Ministry of Education and Culture through the office of the Uruguayan Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts, and of Departmental Interest by the Maldonado Departmental Government.
