Conference: “The Sovereign Debt Crisis in Europe: Implications for Regional Integration”

On April 11, 2012, the lecture “The Sovereign Debt Crisis in Europe: Consequences for Regional Integration” was held in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Marcos Farias, Professor at the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences (ISCSP) of the Technical University of Lisbon (UTL) and Visiting Professor in the Bachelor’s Program in International Studies at the faculty. The aim of the lecture was to analyze whether the consequences of the economic and financial crisis in Europe will have a profound impact on the continent’s integration process. The event was organized by the Department of International Studies.

Dr. Farias holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences and International Relations from the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences (ISCSP) at the Technical University of Lisbon (UTL). He also holds a Master’s degree in European Studies from the same university and a Master’s degree in International Relations Theory from the University of Aberystwyth. He teaches courses on Contemporary Political Thought, European Integration, Introduction to International Relations, the Post-Soviet Space, Advanced Methodologies for International Relations, and Foreign Policy of the Great Powers at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels at ISCSP-UTL.
