On April 9 and 11, Mr. Wolmer led the workshop “Immediate Restructuring of Traumatic Experiences,” aimed at psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, educational psychologists, and related professionals.
On April 10, he led the workshop “The Importance of Community Leadership Organization in Emergency Situations,” offered to leaders of community institutions. In the afternoon, he delivered the lecture “Developing Children’s Resilience to Cope with Stressful Situations: A Program Adopted by the Israeli Ministry of Education,” aimed at parents and school staff.
On April 11, he conducted a training session for medical and psychological teams from the Ministry of the Interior and the Armed Forces titled “Coping Mechanisms for Daily Exposure to Stressful Situations Among First Responders.”
Mr. Wolmer holds a degree in Clinical Psychology from Tel Aviv University, where he is currently completing his doctorate. He currently leads a pilot project on operational resilience for the Israel Police Department and the National Urban Resilience Program in 18 cities across Israel. He is a global pioneer in training teachers as clinical mediators to take charge of programs that strengthen children’s resilience and provide intervention in post-traumatic situations, based on his experience developing projects in areas affected by mass disasters.
He has published more than 40 articles in professional journals, the chapter “Children and Mass Disaster” in the Lewis Textbook of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and co-edited, together with his team at the Cohen-Harris Center , the book “Post-Trauma in Children” for Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinics of North America.
