Conference: “The Challenges Facing the European Union”

On May 16, 2012, the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences hosted a lecture titled “The Challenges Facing the European Union,” delivered by Ambassador Thomas Antoine, who has served as Belgium’s Ambassador to Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay since February 2011. The event was organized by the faculty’s Department of International Studies.

Ambassador Antoine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Letters and a Bachelor’s degree in Thomistic Philosophy from the Catholic University of Leuven. He has an extensive diplomatic career within the Belgian Foreign Service, spanning nearly thirty years. He served as Belgium’s Ambassador to Tunisia (2008–2010), Director of Bilateral Relations with Southeast Europe (2005–2008), Consul General in Istanbul (2002–2005), and Counselor in Washington (1994–1997).
