The activity constituted the second stage of the “Program for the Improvement of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education,” an initiative of the engineering faculties has by ANII, Indunor, and the National Academy of Engineering. The first phase of the program was the “Seminar on Pedagogical Innovation” led by Prof. Eric Mazur, a professor at Harvard University, which took place on February 13, 2012, in Montevideo.
