Lecture Series: “Israel in the Middle East”

On June 25 and 27, and July 2 and 4, 2012, the lecture series “Israel in the Middle East” took place at ORT Pocitos, led by Dr. Alberto Spectorowski, Professor of Political Theory and Comparative Politics at Tel Aviv University. The series was organized by the Department of Jewish Studies and the Department of International Studies.

How political changes in Egypt and Jordan and the civil war in Syria affect Israel, and what Israel can do in the face of these changes.

Dr. Spectorowski holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He was a professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the University of Notre Dame, Indiana (United States). He is the author of the book "The Origins of Argentina's Revolution of the Right" ( University of Notre Dame Press, 2003) and of numerous articles on fascist ideology and the New Right in Europe. He served as a political advisor to former Israeli Foreign Minister Shlomo Ben-Ami, who participated alongside Palestinian officials in the Camp David peace talks in 2000.
