Coordinator Joins the Editorial Board of the “Uruguayan Yearbook of Human Rights”

David Telias, Coordinator of the Department of Jewish Studies, represented the university on the Editorial Board of the “Uruguayan Yearbook of Human Rights,” the inaugural issue of which is scheduled to be published between April and May 2013.

The yearbook is the core component of the “Human Rights Yearbook Project,” for which the National Directorate of Human Rights of the Ministry of Education and Culture brought together various national and international educational, social, and political organizations. In addition to this publication, the project includes the organization of public academic and cultural activities focused on the theme of human rights.

The following organizations have joined the project: National Public Education Administration (ANEP), Center for Judicial Studies of Uruguay (CEJU), CLAEH, Inter-American Institute of Human Rights (IIDH), Municipality of Montevideo, Public Prosecutor’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, United Nations System in Uruguay, Catholic University of Uruguay, University of the Republic, and Universidad ORT Uruguay.

The Editorial Board also included Néstor Da Costa, Academic Director of CLAEH; Dr. Mariella Saettone, Academic Coordinator of the Human Rights Diploma Programs at the Catholic University; and Dr. Daoiz Uriarte, Full Professor of Human Rights at the University of the Republic.
