Activities:
- Thursday, September 13 - Opening and presentation of the exhibition “Janusz Korczak: Educator and Humanist” by David Telias, Coordinator of the Department of Jewish Studies. Screening of the documentary “Korczak of the Children,” which accompanies the exhibition. The exhibition will remain open until Friday, September 21, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, September 19. Screening of the feature film “Korczak” by Andrzej Wajda (Poland, 1990).
- Thursday, the 20th. Roundtable discussion “Education and Human Rights” led by Dr. Ricardo Pérez Manrique, Justice of the Supreme Court of Justice, and Fernando Willat, Coordinator of the Human Rights Knowledge and Education Division of the National Directorate of Human Rights at the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Participants in the roundtable included Dr. Ricardo Pérez Manrique, Justice of the Supreme Court of Justice; Prof. Leandro Scasso, Director of CTC Maldonado; David Telias, Coordinator of the Department of Jewish Studies at the university; and Fernando Willat, Coordinator of the Education and Human Rights Division of the National Directorate of Human Rights at the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The event was attended by Mario Fernández, Dean of the School of Engineering; Dr. Javier Miranda, National Director of Human Rights; and various municipal officials.
