Conference: "Developing the Bilateral Agenda with the United States: An Approach Beyond Trade"

As part of the Department of International Studies’ “2012 Lecture Series,” a lecture titled “Developing the Bilateral Agenda with the United States: An Approach Beyond Trade” was held on September 27, 2012, at the School of Management and Social Sciences. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Carlos Gianelli, former Uruguayan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, the United States, the Netherlands, and Mexico.

Dr. Gianelli served as Director General of Foreign Policy and Director General of Economic Affairs at the national level. He was Chief of Staff to the Secretary General of ALADI (Latin American Integration Association) and Uruguay’s representative in the dispute with Argentina over the pulp mills. He is the author of several articles in specialized journals on international relations. He has been awarded honors by Brazil, Chile, Italy, and Mexico.
