2012 MBA of the Year – First Award in Uruguay

On October 11, 2012, the MBA Annual Dinner was held at the Golf Club. The event was attended by MBA alumni, students, faculty members, and members of the graduate program’s board. During the event, awards were presented for the first time in our country in three categories: Distinguished Alumnus, Academic Excellence, and Best Business Plan. Rodolfo Gioscia, General Manager of Manos del Uruguay, was recognized for his career as the 2012 Outstanding MBA. The awards were presented by the Dean of the School of Management and Social Sciences, Dr. Gaston Labadie; the Academic Secretary, Jaime Damiani; and the MBA Academic Coordinator, Dr. Luis Silva.

Awards:

- Academic Excellence: to the graduating senior with the highest academic performance in the MBA program - awarded to Natalia Moreno, CPA, Supervisor of the Advisory Services Department at KPMG Uruguay.

- Best Business Plan: to the business plan group that received the highest evaluation in the final year - awarded to Lorena Veiga, Managing Partner at Xternum; Magalí Da Silva, Human Resources Consultant at the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) for the DNA (National Customs Directorate) and other private companies; and Ruth Enss, Project Manager 2 at Sonda Uruguay.

- Distinguished Alumnus: community recognition (direct vote) of an MBA graduate for their career achievements—awarded to Rodolfo Gioscia, General Manager of Manos del Uruguay and Full Professor of the Family Business Chair at the School of Administration and Social Sciences.
