"First Specialized Seminar on International Trade"

On October 31, 2012, the “First Specialized Seminar on International Trade” took place at the School of Management and Social Sciences, organized by the school’s International Trade Department. The opening remarks were delivered by the Dean of the School of Administration and Social Sciences, Dr. Gaston Labadie, and the Professor of International Trade, Isidoro Hodara, Esq. During the event, awards were presented to the winners of the contest on the topic “Overview of Argentine restrictions on foreign trade and their impact on Uruguay,” which was open to students in the Bachelor’s program in International Studies. 


Topics covered:

  • professional development
    Pre-financing of exports: an update, presented by María Antonieta Jara, Professor in the Department of International Trade at the faculty.


  • Contest Topic: "Overview of Argentina’s Foreign Trade Restrictions and Their Impact on Uruguay." Presentation of the winning entries from the contest. The event was moderated by Juan Labraga, Associate Professor of International Trade at the faculty. The research papers were required to assess the impact on trade with Uruguay of the measures taken by the Argentine Republic over the past year. The first prize was shared by the research papers authored by Silvina Castelli and Akio Yoshimoto, and by Carlos Acosta and Diego Kohn.

  • Research Findings
    The Importance of Temporary Admission for Exporters and the Uruguayan Economy. Authors: Enrique Gómez and Pablo Poey, graduates of the Bachelor’s Program in International Studies and faculty members of the Department of International Trade, along with Hodara, Elena Pellizza, and Luciana Manfredi, students in the program.
