Rabbi Maarabi is a psychiatrist. He served as Chief Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Uruguay from 2002 to 2009. He was appointed Official Rabbi of Olei (an organization that brings together immigrants from Latin America, Spain, and Portugal in Israel). He works in the Department of Adult Education for the municipalities of Ra’anana and Kfar Saba ( Israel). He teaches seminars at the Ma’on Mofet Teacher Training Institute in Tel Aviv. He has published the books “Mital HaShamaim, ” “Debarjá Iair,” and “E’elé be Tamar.”
Mr. Margulies is a Full Professor (Grade 5) of Public Financial Management in the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences at the University of the Republic. He served on the executive committees of the Israeli Community of Uruguay and the Zionist Organization of Uruguay. He held the presidencies of the Yavne Institute and the Press and Broadcasting Commission of the Central Israeli Committee of Uruguay.
