The coordinator presented the book “A Voice for Memory: The Testimony of a Uruguayan Woman Who Survived Eleven Concentration Camps”

David Telias, Coordinator of the Department of Jewish Studies, hosted the book presentation for “A Voice for Memory: The Testimony of a Uruguayan Woman Who Survived Eleven Concentration Camps” by Miriam Beck and Miguel Kertesz, recently published by Planeta. The event, which featured the authors, took place on December 9, 2012, at the Carpa Atlántida Centenaria, as part of the Third Edition of the Atlántida Book Fair organized by the Martín Fierro Bookstore and Ocus Media, with the support of the Comuna Canaria and the Municipality of Atlántida.

Beck is the survivor whose story the book tells, and Miguel Kertesz is her son. The event was designated as being of “touristic, educational, and cultural interest” by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
