Teachers Receive National Graduate Scholarships in Strategic Fields Through ANII

On December 19, 2012, the Board of Directors of the ANII (National Agency for Research and Innovation) announced the results of the evaluation process for the 2012 call for applications for National Graduate Scholarships in Strategic Areas. Two faculty members were awarded master’s scholarships and one was awarded a doctoral scholarship. 

In the area of national doctoral fellowships, Ernesto Copello, a research assistant in the CompuTE group at the School of Engineering, was awarded a doctoral fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Nora Szasz, Academic Coordinator of Systems Engineering, and Dr. Álvaro Tasistro, Professor of Computer Theory at the faculty, as co-advisor. The proposal is titled “Formalization of Aspects of Programming Language Theory.”

In the area of master’s scholarships, Erienne Jackson, a faculty member in the Biotechnology department, received a master’s scholarship (Basic Sciences Education Program), with Dr. Lorena Betancor, a research professor of Biotechnology at the faculty, serving as her advisor. The title of her proposal is “In vitro Use of Immobilized Enzyme Systems.”

Meanwhile, Martín Zubeldia, a research teaching assistant in the MATE (Mathematics Applied to Telecommunications) group at the School of Engineering, received a master’s scholarship. His advisor is Dr. Fernando Paganini, Professor of Telecommunications Theory, and his co-advisor is Dr. Andrés Ferragut, Associate Professor of Telecommunications Theory. His proposal is titled“Performance in Wireless and Peer-to-Peer Networks .”
